Tracey Thomas & Mocktails at 5 Points

This Thursday, August 22nd at from 6pm:

Singer/songwriter Tracey Thomas was part of the infamous Akron Sound movement with Devo, The Pretenders, Tin Huey, The Waitresses and more. She will bring her solo acoustic music to 5 Points on August 22nd.

We will also have our special Mocktail menu of drinks available! These are non-alcoholic cocktail-style beverages made without alcoholic ingredients using our local ingredients.

Spring is sort of here! We are slowly rolling into patio season. We have launched a range of Kombucha made by our local friends Snowmon’s Kombucha. We now have a consistent gluten free bakery option with strawberry cake at the moment. Our vegan croissants are now a staple. We have added a 20 ounce hot drink option to our menu and we have some fun events coming right up:

April brings new music and a special new drink!

April has arrived and we are predicting warmer days ahead and maybe patio weather! We are delighted to announce that we will have live music every Saturday at 10am this month. Here is the full list:

April 6: Andy McManus: Hailing from County Armagh Andrew has played music throughout his entire life. He was a member of the South Ulster Youth Orchestra and has performed as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter in pubs and coffee shops around Ireland and England. Andrew now lives in Cleveland where he is gaining a following in the Irish community playing his music around local venues. Register here.

April 13: Micah Foster: Micah began playing music and writing songs at age 14, and spent the majority of his teenage years playing bass in a psychedelic band based out of Columbus. Micah moved to Cleveland in 2017 after he got out of college, and has been performing as a solo acoustic musician ever since. Micah describes his music as progressive folk, and aims for it be a cross between Iron and Wine, and Primus. Register here.

To celebrate the start of baseball season we have introduced a special new Summer drink: The Slugger. It’s house-made lemonade with a shot of espresso. It’s a perfect pick up if you are feeling a little sluggish :)

Our good friend, Doug Kusak, from the Metroparks will be back on Thursday, April 11th at 7pm to give a special talk on the Great Lakes Exposition 1936-1937. The biggest party Cleveland’s ever seen was held on a lakefront garbage dump! In the midst of the Great Depression, Cleveland decided to hold itself a massive 100th birthday party, and everyone was invited to celebrate our industrial might.


St Paddy's MONTH!

The most important month of the year is upon us and we are are ready for it! We have a month of festivities which include our new green lids, weekly “Irish” coffee drinks, new bakery and sandwich options and of course music! We are delighted to announce that Conor’s brother’s band “Shindig” will be playing at the cafe from 9am on Paddy’s day (March 17th). Doors open at 7:30am so come early! Andy McManus will here on the morning of Paddy’s eve (March 16th) to get the party started!

Taylor Lamborn and Friends Valentines Gig on February 14th.

Taylor Lamborn is an internationally accomplished singer-songwriter and also our neighbor who revels in any chance to collaborate within the local blues and rock scenes. Taylor captivates audiences with her energetic and emotive performances. No matter the lineup, Taylor never disappoints, with both original and cover material. She has played numerous times at the cafe and is one of our best customers!

Best coffee shop in Northeast Ohio!

Hello Coffee Lovers,

Yes you read it right! We were recently voted best coffee shop in NE Ohio by the viwers of WKYC. They say that hard works pays off and having this honor after one year of business is a true testament to our great staff and customers so thank you! 

It feels like Winter is in the air so we have reintroduced our handcrafted soups by Nine Spoons. We currently have a toasted special (ham, cheese, tomato and onion) and soup lunch combo available. Cold weather also means hot chocolate weather and we have Cadbury's drinking chocoalte along with Bewleys Irish indulgent white chocolate to keep us warm!

We set out from the beginning to be a true neighborhood cafe where friendships are forged. As we head into the Winter we remain committed to this vision and will continue sponsoring regular events to bring people together so here is a list of upcoming events at the cafe:

October 28th @ 10am - West Park Composting Workshop: Compost = black gold! Join two Master Recyclers and Rust Belt Riders to learn the basics of at home composting and ask your composting questions. Reduce your waste and up your garden game. It is easy to get started! There will be compost bins for sale from Cuyahoga Recycles. Grab your coffee then compost those grounds! Register here.  

October 28 @ 4:30pm - Yoga at 5 Points: Yoga at 5 Points is a vinyasa (flow style) class that is suitable for all levels! All you need to bring if yourself and a yoga mat! Cost is $10. Register here
Halloween late opening October 31st: Trick-or-treat at the 5 Points! We will be ready with candy and hot drinks for all! We will stay open until 8pm! 

November 10th @10am - Andrew McManus: Irish born singer-songwriter, Andrew McManus, will join us for some Irish ballads and much more! 

November 25th @ 3pm - Herbal Wisdom Monthly Meet Up: Join herbalists Lisa Harris and Nicki Schneider in a relaxed and casual atmosphere for our monthly herbal gathering. Each month we focus on a different herb; it's preparations, identification, how to forage and folklore. November we will be getting up close and personal with Burdock, Arctium sp. Register here.

Hello Coffee Lovers,

5 Points Coffee & Tea is about to turn one (1)!

On Saturday, August 11th, we'll have a full year of operations under our belt! It's certainly been a whirlwind 12-months. We are beyond grateful for the continuous support of our customers and neighbors who have sustained us. And, of course, we are thankful beyond measure for our incredible staff team.

This feels like a critical milestone and more importantly is good excuse to celebrate. Please join us for the festivities (see details below). You won't be disappointed -- after all, we have a full day of performances, activities and specials planned!
