Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

Hello Coffee Lovers,

5 Points Coffee & Tea is about to turn one (1)!

On Saturday, August 11th, we'll have a full year of operations under our belt! It's certainly been a whirlwind 12-months. We are beyond grateful for the continuous support of our customers and neighbors who have sustained us. And, of course, we are thankful beyond measure for our incredible staff team.

This feels like a critical milestone and more importantly is good excuse to celebrate. Please join us for the festivities (see details below). You won't be disappointed -- after all, we have a full day of performances, activities and specials planned!

We set out from the beginning to be a true neighborhood cafe where friendships are forged. As we head into the coming year we remain committed to this vision and will continue sponsoring regular events to bring people together. If you have an idea for an event let us know!!!

Slán go fóill!
Team 5 Points.

Lá fhéile Pádraig sona duit

Lá fhéile Pádraig sona duit

Hello coffee lovers,

Time to celebrate the patron Saint of Ireland -- St. Patrick! Don’t miss out on all that we have planned at 5 Points for this high holiday!

First up, we are proud to announce that we were nominated for Cleveland Magazine's Best of the West in the coffee shop category! We will join other nominees in Cleveland Magazine's annual Best of the West party at LaCentre Conference and Banquet Facility, 25777 Detroit Road, in Westlake from 6 to 9pm on Thursday, April 12. If you’re interested in joining us at this party, you can purchase tickets (and help us win!), by clicking here.

In an effort to prevent Conor from becoming too homesick this St. Paddy’s Day season, we lined up a whole slew of events and specials at the shop, including:

  • Our signature Irishtown Bend -- named after the former Irish American neighborhood located on the West Bank of the Cuyahoga River, an area that is slated to potentially become a public park. This drink is the perfect blend of our 5 Points dark roast mixed with Irish Cream.  A taste of Ireland and you can still walk straight!
  • Westpark's very own artist, Marianne Mangan's incredible photos of Irish landscapes and culture are on display and for sale at 5 Points.
  • Musician Andy McManus, a native of County Armagh, will join us bright and early on St. Patrick’s Day, and will begin belting out the Irish ballads 8am. It's going to be a busy one so get here early! You can RSVP here(no charge)!!!
  • Don’t miss out on your chance to get a limited edition Green 5 PointsT-shirt!
  • And don’t forget our own post Paddy's Day Survivor's Yoga class at 2:30pm on March 18th! RSVP here.

In other news: Join us for our Easter DIY Decorating class. Welcome in Easter and Springtime as we craft Easter wreaths! This will be step by step, easy and fun activity for kids & also a creative outlet for people of ages. Supply are included in the cost. Sip on coffee, tea or a hot cocoa while here! You can RSVP here or at the cafe. Cost is $5.

BIG week ahead!

Team 5 Points.

8 Weeks in!

Hello coffee lovers,

Summer is here (or should it be the Fall?!) and we have hot and cold drinks to keep up with these crazy weather patterns! It is hard to believe that we are now eight weeks open and what a whirlwind it has been.  The level of support from the neighborhood has been truly overwhelming.  Westparkers stay true to their word and actively support local businesses so we want to thank you.

With any new venture there are always kinks to iron out and we always look for feedback.  Since we started this project in August of last year we have surveyed our followers for feedback about everything from menu options to opening and closing hours.  Now that we are a few weeks into this we have created a new survey to see if we are meeting the goals that we set when we opened.  You can take the survey here

Onto some exciting updates:

  • We will open our take out window tomorrow! It is located on the W 159th of the building and you can pull in curbside and grab a drink and/or baked good to go.  As always we ask that you don’t block any of our neighbors driveways.
  • We will launch our daily soup schedule also tomorrow as the weather is meant to return to more fall like conditions! Soup will be served from11am each day!
  • We have some exciting events coming up with a pumpkin painting with our Barista Mimi and also some live music from Irishman Andrew McManus.
  • We have pumpkin spice lattes for the fall with apple cider drinks coming!
  • We have t-shirts, hoodies and mugs for sale!

Remember the take our survey

Thank you West Park !

Hello Coffee Lovers,

A big shout out to all of you who showed up on Saturday for our official grand opening. It was great to meet so many new people and get the chance to showcase our coffees, teas and baked goods. Thank you to City Councilman Marty Keane and County Councilman Dale Miller who helped cut the ribbon for us. Beginning tomorrow our official hours kick in:

6am-4pm Monday-Friday
7:30am-3:30pm Saturday and
9am-2pm Sunday

We look forward to serving you!

Keep Calm - The coffee is starting to brew

Hello Coffee Lovers,
A few important updates:
July 4th Parade
A little birdie told us that it gets a bit busy around the 5 Points during the parade! We’re looking forward to the opportunity to meet more of our neighbors. We have a surprise or two in store for all parade goers, so swing by to see what we have up our sleeves!

Our building is starting to look a lot like a cafe! So far we have painted the walls and ceilings, polished the concrete floors, added electrical fixtures, added subway tile and the list goes on. We now focus on awnings, cabinets, patio fencing as we gallop towards the finish line.

We’re keeping our promise to provide menu items based on our recent survey responses and our commitment to source locally. We’re excited to announce Storehouse Tea as our tea vendor. Storehouse Tea is a fantastic local company focused on sourcing and blending certified organic and Fair Trade teas.

Keep Calm -- the Coffee is almost on

Light at the end of the tunnel...

Hello Coffee Lovers,
We hope that you are all getting a chance to enjoy the nice weather as we head into summer!
Lots to report from 5 Points Coffee & Tea. Over the past few months, we’ve been logging long hours to make sure we stay on schedule for a summer opening. We continue to aim for a mid to late summer opening with a special event planned for the July 4th parade. We have a number of surprises up our sleeves for the 4th event, so stay tuned!
A few important updates:
The 5 Points table at the Hooley on May 13th was a huge success! Thank you to all of you who stopped by to say hi and participate in our Cleveland spin board trivia game.  We loved getting the chance to meet and chat with so many of you! And a special shout-out to Pam Keown who won our Hooley Grand Prize. Enjoy Pam!

Lots and lots of progress over the last month and a half. To date, we have added a new roof, new concrete, interior framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, tuckpointing and much more. The next few weeks will showcase our custom awnings with our logo, new doors, patio fence and more! We are proud to work with Scalish Construction and the Storefront Renovation Program (SRP) on this project.

We are close to finalizing our menu based on your fantastic survey responses. We’re thrilled that we have found great local partners to provide our coffee, tea and tasty treats!  We are excited to be working with Phoenix to bring you some excellent coffee drinks. Stay tuned for more menu news on our next newsletter!
